Gibson Island Stewardship
The Belle Plaine Town Board approved rules for access and use of Gibson Island. The rules had been recommended by the Gibson Island Stewardship Committee.
Here are the rules:
* Access may be limited during eagles' nesting as designated by DNR's best practices.
* Pedestrian use only. Fires, picnics or camping are not permitted. Use of alcohol and hunting are not permitted
* No dogs or horses are allowed.
* Access is permitted during daylight hours.
Fencing is planned to keep snowmobiles and other motorized vehicles off the property during winter months. Hiking will be permitted.
